A fake policeman was shot dead in Kayole, Nairobi. on Wednesday

The man earned a living by 'arresting' and detaining his victims in his car and forcing them to part with money.

He then alighted and attempted to run away, the report added.

“The officers gave chase and were later reinforced by others from Buruburu and managed to fatally injure the suspect,” the report also said.

The vehicle was later searched and a Browning pistol loaded with five bullets was found.

Also found was a fake police identification card bearing the names Corporal Jackson Kilonzo.

Other items recovered were a pair of handcuffs, a walkie talkie, two mobile phones, a pair of vehicle registration plates and an insurance sticker.
