A risk management company has launched a set of election-specific Security Information Services to help Kenyans stay informed during polls.

The tool developed by WS Insight provides a practical guide to preparing for the elections.

The 'Election Safety Toolkit' is available on the firm's website and can be downloaded for free.

VIOLENCE
Subscribers will receive both daily and weekly incident alerts and reports throughout the election period.

It will also offer timely analysis to ensure businesses and individuals are able to make informed choices.

The daily incident alerts and reports will monitor any political violence, provide clients with a detailed review of election-related activity, as well as a forecast of campaign plans over the next 24 hours.

UPDATES
Aside from the weekly reports focusing on the security environment, they will also provide broader analysis of the week’s developments.

The reports will also offer county-by-county updates on the status of disorder.

"It is designed to be used by anyone concerned about safety levels in the areas where they live, or are planning to travel to," he said.

"The toolkit provides simple to use guidance for both individuals and organisations."
