First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has been given Sh20 million and a new mobile clinic in support of her Beyond Zero initiative.

The cheque was donated by Africa Reinsurance Corporation through its Group Managing Director and CEO Corneille Karekezi, while the fully kitted medical facility was donated by I&M Bank.

Mr Karekezi said the firm is committed to being part of the efforts to improve maternal and child health in the country.

I&M Director Eric Kimani added that Mrs Kenyatta has been an inspiration to many Kenyans, saying the donation is a testimony of the bank’s belief in the vision of the initiative.

“Today’s presentation of a fully equipped mobile clinic is a clear statement from us that we believe that achieving beyond zero maternal and infant mortality is possible,” he said.
