President Uhuru Kenyatta will tour the Coast region starting Wednesday.

Here is a list of what the President will do while on the Coast:

Tourism Summit
President Kenyatta will host a tourism summit at State House in Mombasa during this trip. The summit brings together the private sector, government, and other players in the industry. This is the first of the State House summits to be held outside Nairobi and the event will be televised live on most local television channels.

Ask Mombasa Show

On Thursday, President Kenyatta will formally open the Agricultural Society of Kenya’s Mombasa International Show at Mkomani.
The show, first held in 1903, remains one of the region’s premiere exhibition events and an important platform for agriculture in Kenya. This year, exhibitors from across the country and the region will display their wares with the Mombasa County government showing its blue economy (marine-based)projects.

Second Container Terminal

On Friday, September 2, the Head of State will commission the first phase of Mombasa’s second container terminal. This phase has two berths, the first of which will serve medium-sized vessels, and a second, which can accommodate vessels of 8,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) capacity. The government of Japan has been a major supporter of the Sh30 billion project, building on the warm relationship about which the President spoke during TICAD last week. Two more phases of the project are yet to be completed.

Meeting and Consulting with Local Leaders

Throughout the tour, President Kenyatta will meet local leaders and consult them regarding development on the Coast since devolution.
