Four Administration Police (AP) officers were arrested on Monday afternoon in Nairobi with a five-kilogramme elephant tusk.

The officers — Corporal Stephen Chege, Corporal Martin Marangu, Corporal Francis Karani and Constable Peter Kuria Kimuyu — are all based at the AP’s Security of Government Building.

They are to be charged with being in possession of a wildlife trophy on Tuesday.

Officers from the Kenya Wildlife Service also detained a Toyota Prado vehicle with registration number KAV 858F, that was being used by the officers.
