People injured when soldiers stormed a market in Garissa in 2012 say they were left with disabilities.

The Suk Mukdi (black market) traders said their families were struggling to them drugs.  

Dr Harun Haji Mohamed said the soldiers stormed the market at midday on November 19 and began shooting indiscriminately.

He said he had just left his shop when the soldiers pounced on him.

“They beat me up and never said anything, not even giving reasons why they were doing so,” he said.

The court directed the plaintiffs’ lawyer to serve the AG’s office with the case papers. The case will be heard on October 1.
