The Attorney-General Githu Muigai has obtained orders barring the Law Society of Kenya from contemplating any action against him over how he handled the Anglo leasing cases abroad.

Mr Muigai had moved to court on Thursday following LSK’s demands that he be removed from office over the handling of Anglo Leasing cases that saw Kenya lose the case and pay Sh1.4 billion to Universal Satspace Limited. High Court Judge Weldon Korir granted him the orders.

“A temporary order is hereby issued to restrain LSK or its council from proceeding further with any contemplated action against Mr Muigai concerning the performance,” said Justice Korir.

He further ordered that both LSK and the Council of LSK be barred from holding any meeting to discuss Mr Githu’s conduct in relation to the said case.

The case will be mentioned on July 9.
