The Kenya government has set up a South Sudan crisis management centre through the ministry of foreign affairs to provide information on Kenyans stranded in South Sudan.

The government through the social media also urged anyone with information on Kenyans stranded in the troubled country to inform authorities on +25420310325.

Hundreds of Kenyans are believed to be trapped in Africa’s newest nation now at war with itself following an alleged failed coupe attempt led by sacked Vice President Riak Machar.

Fears are mounting among global leaders that the nation could slide into a full scale civil war that could derail the gains made by South Sudan and throw the whole region into volatility.

On Saturday, President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered the Kenya Defence Forces to evacuate more than 1,600 Kenyans stranded in Juba.

The situation in many parts controlled by the rebels remains uncertain. Kenyans caught in trouble in far-flung parts of South Sudan continued to cry for help on Monday.

Ms Jane Owino told the Nation she has been trapped in a humanitarian camp in Bentiu, Unity State but were running out of supplies.
