A family in Mukuru kwa Reuben, Nairobi County is appealing for assistance to help trace their three-year old child who was kidnapped three months ago.

Mr Enock Mudavadi, during an interview on Monday at Nation Centre, said that his daughter, Monicah Makhungu Jared, was kidnapped on October 1, last year and nothing has been heard of her ever since.

“Months have passed since our daughter, my first born, was kidnapped. We have combed everywhere in the hope of getting her and this has taken a toll on the family. My wife keeps crying every day. I cannot go to work as I spend virtually all my time looking for her,” says Mr Mudavdi as tears roll down his cheeks.

He first reported the matter at Mukuru police station and was issued with Occurrence Book (OB) number 10/14/10/2016 and has since visited several police stations in the city with one hope, finding his daughter.

“It is more than 3 months since my daughter was kidnapped by an unknown person. I have traversed the whole of Nairobi going from one police station to the other to report about her. We have reported everywhere and even done posters in the hope of someone calling with information about her whereabouts but, no success,” narrates Mr Mudavadi.

The distraught father says his child was only three and a half years old then.

On the fateful day, he narrates with evident pain in his heart, his daughter was playing with other children clad in a beautiful yellow dress with green dots and a pink sweater before she was taken away by an unknown man who forcibly grabbed her and took off.

He says: “Before she went missing…they were four children playing together. The other three said that a man came where they were playing and grabbed Monicah, gave her some water and went with her. The children thought that my daughter knew the man.”

He adds that he suspects the man drugged her explaining that his daughter was not in the habbit of accepting freebies from strangers.

“My daughter cannot be convinced that easily by a stranger. I am very sure before being kidnapped, she must have been drugged,” he said.

Monicah was a baby class pupil at House of God Academy and will be turning 4 years old on January 28.
