What you need to know:

  • The report found that drug abuse is particularly rife in boarding schools where well-established cartels between students and workers operate.

  • The students revealed that they had contact with people who secretly supplied the substances at particular points, with the abuse gaining momentum over the weekends.

  • Some learners also confessed lying to teachers that  they suffer from chronic conditions that require them to see a specialist every now and then, only to use sick leaves to replenish their depleted narcotics stock.
