ICC meeting planned to discuss Kenya

A meeting to decide Kenya’s fate over accusations that it refused to cooperate with the ICC prosecutor has been scheduled for Thursday next week.
The trial chamber judges said the meeting would give chance to prosecutor Fatou Bensouda and Kenya to prove who among them had failed to cooperate as required by the Rome Statute.
The judges Thursday said: “The chamber considers that it would benefit from hearing oral submissions in relation to the application, including from the Kenyan Government, and therefore hereby convenes a status conference to be held on Thursday, 13 February, 2014.”
They invited as participants the prosecution, President Kenyatta’s lawyers, Attorney-General Githu Muigai and victims’ lawyer Fergal Gaynor.
Ms Bensouda has accused Kenya of failing to cooperate with her on her request for evidence.
On Wednesday, the status conference focused on her application for adjournment of Mr Kenyatta’s trial date until the prosecution has obtained the evidence.
