Mr Charles Njagua Kanyi, popularly known as “Jaguar”, has threatened to resign as a board member of the National Authority for Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse.

He gave Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery two weeks to stop corruption at the agency, or he would leave.

Contacted, Interior Ministry spokesman Mwenda Njoka said the ministry did not work on threats.

“If there are issues that require investigation, we will take action not because he issued threats but because we are obliged to. Nacada was in existence long before ‘Jaguar’ came,” he said.

Speaking at Nacada offices yesterday, Jaguar said the recent corruption claims at the agency had frustrated him.

“What bothers me most is the level of disregard (for) the laws of the country and daylight theft of public funds by the management of Nacada and the finance committee of the board,” he said.
