Television talk show host Jeff Koinange and businessman Tony Gachoka have failed to stop their arrests for disobeying a court order.

Justice Weldon Korir directed the two to serve the Attorney-General and the magistrate’s court with their application for inter partes hearing on Wednesday.

“I cannot grant the orders you are seeking until I hear both sides of the story,” said Judge Korir.

Nairobi Senior Resident Magistrate Maisy Chesang last week issued a warrant of arrest against the two for failing to appear in court to answer charges of contempt.

They are accused of discussing businessman Jimi Wanjigi, Sani Mbui Wanjigi and Kwacha Group of Companies Ltd during Mr Koinange’s Jeff Koinange Live show despite an order barring the discussion.

Mr Koinange and Mr Gachoka, through lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, argued that the magistrate treated them unfairly and refused to listen to explanations why they failed to attend court.
