Police in Nandi County interrogated Mrs Cecilia Leting and farmer David Bisemu after hired people damaged maize on the disputed land.

Nandi Central sub-county criminal investigations officer Samson Thoya summoned Mrs Leting and Mr Bisemu to provide details on what led to destruction of the maize crop on the 10 acres.

DESTROYED CROP

The two were questioned for three hours following claims by Mr Bisemu that people hired by the Leting family sprayed the crop with chemicals.

Mr Thoya said “CID officers are investigating who destroyed the maize crop planted on the land bought by Mr Leting 16 years ago.”

He said both parties provided useful information that would help in resolving the dispute over the land at Lessos settlement.

Troubled began when the Leting family prepared the disputed land for planting but Mr Bisemu went ahead and planted maize on it.
