The Jubilee Party has issued Senator Johnson Muthama’s estranged first wife Agnes Kavindu with a nomination certificate to run for Machakos woman rep.

Ms Kavindu was among aspirants who on Monday in Machakos received the Uhuru Kenyatta party's green light to run in the August General Election.

"I thank the Jubilee Party for supporting women," she said as she received the paper at Lysack Hotel.

"I promise to deliver in Jesus's name."

Mr Muthama, a former close ally of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, quit the party last week and declared that he will defend his seat as an independent.
