The political parties’ dispute tribunal (PPDT) has directed the Jubilee Party (JP) to hold repeat nominations for Endebbes Constituency within 72 hours.

PPDT chairman Kyalo Mbobu directed JP to hold the repeat polls under the watch of a returning officer who does not hail from that area which falls within Trans-Nzoia County.

Mr Mbobu cancelled the nomination certificate issued to MP Robert Pukose who had been declared the winner.

“We allow the petition filed by Mr Alwin Chapyangani Sasia who complained that he had been rigged out in favour of Mr Pukose,” Mr Mbobu ruled.

He said that the petitioner proved allegations that the polls were marred with malpractices and electoral fraud.

In the flawed primaries, Mr Mbobu said, Mr Sasia had garnered 8,166 votes while Mr Pukose polled 7,921 but the returning officer send to JP different results.

The results relayed to JP showed that Mr Pukose had garnered 9,186 votes against Mr Sasia’s 6,901.

However, there would be no repeat exercise in Bumula constituency for the Ford Kenya ticket as had been earlier reported.

Ford-Kenya’s lawyer Eunice Lumalla has clarified the there was no petition lodged by the party aspirant.
