Njenga Karume grandson charged with murder of girlfriend

  • He allegedly attempted to escape but was apprehended by neighbours who called the police.

A grandson to former Defence minister Njenga Karume has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend.

Mr Kenneth Wathugi Karume denied the charge before High Court judge Jessi Lessit.

He allegedly pushed Victoria Wairimu Kulungia alias Mumbi from the fourth floor of Gracia Apartment in Kiambu Town on March 25 resulting to her death.

Prosecution opposed his application to be released on bail.

The case will be mentioned after two weeks when his lawyer is expected to make fresh application for bail.
