Kenya Pipeline repairs leak in Muhoroni

Diesel supply in Western region will not be affected by the leak in Koru in Muhoroni last week, the management of Kenya Pipeline Company has said.
The company’s managing director Joe Sang said that they have repaired the Nakuru-Kisumu diesel line that was vandalised at Koru on Friday last week.
The MD has also assured consumers in Western region that fuel availability will not be affected by the destruction of the pipeline christened ‘Line Six’.
“The pipeline is back to normal,” Mr Sang in a statement Sunday.
EVACUATION HAMPERED
Mr Sang said the company completed the repair of the line on Saturday evening.
He attributed the slow completion of repairs of the line to numerous rocks and rains in the area, which he said hampered the evacuation in order to access the pipeline.
This, he said, led to complete access of the pipeline late in the night with repair works beginning immediately.
ILLEGAL CONNECTION
He added that the KPC safety and environment team had taken over the site for remedial action.
On Friday morning, KPC officials, with the help of Koru residents, discovered an illegal connection with a network of pipes leading to a petrol station named Hess Energy Kenya, some 100 metres away.
