  • The court also stopped pay television stations from rebroadcasting local channels without permission

The Supreme Court has directed the government not to switch off analogue television broadcast until an appeal filed before it is determined.

In the ruling Friday, the Supreme Court judges Jackton Ojwang and Smokin Wanjala upheld a Court of Appeal decision that set September 30, 2014 as the digital broadcast migration date.

The court also stopped pay television stations from rebroadcasting local channels without permission.

The pay TV stations stopped from airing NTV, Citizen and KTN content without consent are Startimes, Pan-African network, Gotv and Signet.

Last month, the Court of Appeal ordered the government to postpone digital broadcast migration by eight months to September.
