Kericho County Government will offer attractive incentives in a bid to lure investors.

Governor Paul Chepkwony invited investors to venture into coffee, pineapple, potato and sweet potato farming.

The conference, held at Kericho Tea Hotel, had representatives from more than 10 counties and foreign nations.

At the same time, Prof Chepkwony said that his government was focusing on Direct Domestic Investment (DDI) in a bid to raise the economic standard of residents of the county.

He announced the creation of a Sh100 million fund, which will directly support local investments through loans.

“This money will go towards backing up investments in each of the six sub-counties we have. We believe that improving the lives of the people in the villages will automatically affect the lives of those in cities and towns,” Prof Chepkwony said.

Kericho County will be represented in London during a Sweet Potato Expo, which comes months after the county began direct exports of the crop to the United Kingdom and the European Union markets.

Mr Ruto said investment conferences were effective platforms for marketing business opportunities in the counties and revealed that Bomet County will hold a similar forum starting on December 4.
