What you need to know:

  • Land owned by the ANC leader late father, Moses Mudavadi has also been reverted to the Kakamega Golf Club.
  • Mr Mudavadi accused Jubilee of being behind the move.

National Super Alliance co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has denied that he is among a group of top politicians and influential individuals in the previous regimes, who are counting loses after the National Land Commission (NLC) cancelled their title deeds.

Mr Mudavadi claims that he rented a house on the land he is alleged to have illegally acquired in Woodley and has been paying rent to the Nairobi County government.

The Amani National Congress leader said he has never owned and does not hold any title to any property in Woodley estate “for it to be alleged as repossessed and title revoked.”

In a statement through his press secretary Kibisu Kabatesi, Mr Mudavadi accused Jubilee of being behind the move.

LEGAL ACTION

He threatened to take legal action over the issue.

A gazette notice published on July 17 listed individuals affected in the cancellation of the titles by the NLC.

They include presidential candidate Joseph Nyagah, Kasarani MP John Njoroge, Kisii Senator candidate Sam Ongeri and George Godia, Kenya’s permanent representative to UNESCO.

The gazette notice, a legal government document, names Mudavadi as the beneficiary of an irregular allocation of a public utility land in Nairobi’s Woodley area reserved for county government housing.

GOLF CLUB

A piece of land owned by the ANC leader late father, Moses Mudavadi has also been reverted to the Kakamega Golf Club.

Mr Mudavadi on Thursday said as the administrator of his late father’s estate, he is not aware and does not have title of the alleged land.

“It is inconceivable that Hon Mudavadi would knowingly allow himself to be patron of Kakamega Golf Club when he is an interested party in grabbing the Club’s land. It is even ridiculous to imagine that esteemed Club members would elect him Patron against such conflict of interest,” the statement read.
