Mututho to name top drug barons

A file containing names of those involved in drug trafficking will be presented to Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery for action.

National Campaign Against Drug Abuse (Nacada) chairman John Mututho on Thursday said he had finished compiling the “red file.”

“I have a file that contains the names of those involved in drug trafficking in the country and I will be handing it over to the Cabinet Secretary any time from now,” Mr Mututho told the delegates at the 3rd Nacada conference at Bomas of Kenya.

Mr Mututho revealed that police are involved in drug trafficking. He called for independent investigations into their involvement in the vice.

He called on delegates to support the rehabilitation of about 2.6 million Kenyans who are addicted to drugs saying that the country cannot afford to ignore them.

The chairman also asked governors to keep off money collected from alcohol licences saying that the cash is meant for rehabilitation of addicts.
