What will your favourite celebrity be doing this Christmas? Will they will be perched on a yacht in some exotic holiday destination or will they be home with family? We sought to find out how some of Kenya’s popular — and sometimes notorious — personalities will be spending their Christmas on Friday.

1.Pastor Victor Kanyari, the controversial televangelist of the “panda mbegu ya Sh 310” fame will be spreading the cheer on Christmas Day to the poor of Soweto and Kayole in Nairobi’s Eastlands.

He will be giving out vegetables, flour and cooking oil to the less fortunate after which, he said, he will go back home and spend the rest of the day with his family.

Pastor Kanyari gained notoriety when he claimed that he could heal the sick if they made a financial contribution via M-Pesa. He has had a drama-free year this year.

2.Daniel Ndambuki also known as Churchill, the King of comedy and host of ‘The Churchill Show’ on NTV will be in Kangundo tomorrow, spending time with family as he has done each year.

Churchill says that he is looking forward to the day, which is normally followed by a night spent around a bonfire sharing stories and generally catching up.

“As a family, we come together and contribute something small to celebrate Christmas. This year, I will be contributing matchboxes and I cannot wait to see relatives I have not seen in ages,” he said.

3. Musician Jaguar, whose real name is Charles Njagua,  will early in the day donate foodstuffs at Kisii Village in South B.

Later in the afternoon, he will head to Kabete to spend Christmas with Mr Evanson Gathigo, a retired teacher who allowed Jaguar into his school after the musician lost his mother.

All other schools that he had asked for help from had turned him away because he could not afford to pay the fees.

“If it was not for Mr Gathigo, I would not be here,” Jaguar told the Nation. “He took me back to school after I had stayed out of school for a year after my mother died. He also saw me through high school.”

4. Vera Sidika, the video vixen and socialite said she plans to travel to the United States where she expects to spend Christmas with friends.

“This year I have been very busy with events and other things and so I did not have the time for myself and so when I return from the US, I want have 'me time' before I travel to Mombasa with my family for some days,” she said. “After that I am planning to do some charity work in Kawangware in the early weeks of January.”

5. Julius Yego, the world javelin champion, will be spending Christmas at home with his family and friends.

He plans to spend most of the time at his home in Eldoret with his wife and son whom he said he draws his strength from. He said he will resume training in January.
