National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has suspended Embassava Sacco indefinitely.

NTSA Director General Francis Meja on Wednesday evening said the operators will only be allowed back on the road after fulfilling conditions set by the authority.

“Yes we have suspended them from Wednesday until they fulfil the conditions that we have set for them,” said Mr Meja but declined to disclose more information on why the sacco has been banned.

The ban is likely to create a transport crisis for commuters from most parts of Nairobi's Eastlands as the sacco is one of the biggest.

Other operators on the route include City Hoppa, City Shuttle and Royal which all combined have less vehicles than Embassava.

Sources indicate that the management of the Sacco has already indicated to commuters that it will be off the road for two weeks.
