National Super Alliance leaders took their campaign to West Pokot County where they asked residents to vote out President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in the coming General Election.

The Opposition leaders led by Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga faulted the ruling Jubilee administration for failing to fulfil many of the promises they made in the run up to the 2013 elections.

JUBILEE FAILURES

They cited high cost of living, insecurity, high rate of unemployment, lack of a proper education system and failure to protect devolution as the major challenges facing the nation.

“As Nasa, we have traversed different parts of the country and it is clear that the Jubilee government has failed to control the economy.

"Jubilee’s greatest achievement is pushing the country deeper into poverty while giving empty promises,” Mr Odinga said.

BANDITRY
He was speaking today at Chelang’a gardens in Makutano Town, Kapenguria Constituency, where the Nasa pitched tent after campaigning in the neighbouring Baringo County on Thursday.

“It is unfortunate that the government of the day has failed in its mandate of protecting the lives of Kenyans.

"All we see and hear are reports about the killing of our fellow Kenyans each and every day because of insecurity,” the Nasa flag-bearer said.

PREVENT RIGGING
Mr Odinga, who spoke first unlike in Baringo where he spoke last, reiterated that if elected president, he would provide free primary and secondary education beginning January next year.

On election matters, the ODM leader said Nasa will deploy five agents in every polling station to ensure that its votes are protected in August.

“The agents will be marking names of voters once they cast their votes.

"Additionally, we shall send other agents in homesteads to make sure that everyone votes because we don’t want to leave anything to chance,” he said.

FOREIGN LOANS
Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto noted that the Nasa government would allocate more funds to counties and called on the community to rally behind Mr Odinga’s candidacy.

Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi faulted the Jubilee government for what he termed as “massive borrowing of foreign loans at the expense of taxpayers”.

He alleged that the government sold maize to the Food Agricultural Organisation to feed refugees from Southern Sudan leaving Kenyans hungry.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka told supporters that “the presidential results will be tallied in polling stations and not in Nairobi”.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula said in the first 100 days of Nasa government, they will start building Sebit cement factory to create jobs.
