MET DELEGATION

Addressing the press at Orange House on Tuesday when he met a delegation from Baringo and professionals from West Pokot, Nasa co-principal Raila Odinga said the Jubilee government did not deserve a second term in office as they had failed to deliver on key promises they made to Kenyans.

“Jubilee has been telling people that they should be given a second term in office in order to complete projects which they have started, that is a lie. Which projects have they started? All they have been doing is implementing the projects I initiated while in the coalition government,” he said.

Mr Odinga accused the government of neglecting West Pokot and Baringo regions in terms of development.

MEAT PROCESSING PLANT

“We know the people of West Pokot have cattle but they do not have a meat processing plant in the region which can easily be constructed by the government,” Mr Odinga said.

“The level of poverty in West Pokot is high because the government has not invested in development projects in the region.”

The Nasa presidential candidate also accused the government of failing to tackle insecurity in Baringo County.

Mr Odinga received West Pokot woman representative Regina Nyeris and Sigor MP Phillip Rotino yesterday who defected from Jubilee.

After the Baringo and West Pokot tour, Nasa principals will on Saturday hold a rally in Mumias Town then on Sunday, Mr Odinga, accompanied by the other four leaders, will present papers to the electoral commission at KICC.
