Nine musicians are feared dead following a boat accident in Lake Victoria, confirms Nyangoma assistant deputy commissioner Angeline Were.
The boat which was ferrying 17 artistes of the Boyieta Wuod Awasi music group capsized en route to the Ndenda Island in Siaya County from Lihunda beach in Bondo.
Eight members of the team were rescued in the 9 am accident in Central Sakwa Ward in Nyangoma Division.
It’s not clear what caused the accident.
The team was expected to perform Saturday evening at a concert in Ndenda.
