Barack Obama and Uhuru to ink bilateral pacts, says State House

Friday will not be a public holiday despite the expected disruptions as US President Barack Obama arrives in Kenya for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, State House has said.
State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu on Thursday said police would guide motorists following road closures on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“Mombasa Road will not be completely shut, but there will be changes in traffic flow,” he said at a press conference at Harambee House in Nairobi.
KOGELO OUT
US Ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec said they do not anticipate disruption of mobile services during the landmark visit.
He also said the US leader was not planning to visit Kogelo in Siaya County where his father — Barack Obama Sr — was born and raised.
Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed said Nairobi would ink several agreements on infrastructure, education, health, taxation and visa extensions with Washington.
There will be no separate meeting between Mr Obama and Deputy President William Ruto, she said, as “it is not the practice worldwide for deputy presidents to have separate bilateral talks” with visiting leaders.
