The year 2013 has seen the passing away of notable Kenyan faces from various spheres of life and this are just some of them:

Mutula Kilonzo, a Kenyan politician, former minister for Education and Senior Councel died on the 27th of April 2013.

Outspoken former Kenya National Union of Teachers David Okuttah,61 dies on April 2, 2013. 

George Thuo, former Juja MP, businessman died on the 17th of November 2013 while having a drink with his friends at a pub in Thika.

Waruru Kanja, freedom fighter, former cabinet minister and Nyeri politician 83, dies on December 17 2013.  

Veteran rally driver Ben Muchemi. He succumbed to cancer at the MP Shah hospital on the 22nd of December.

The Westgate terror attack on September 21, kills many Kenyans among them President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cousin Mbugwa Mwangi and his fiancée Rosemary.

Ruhila Adatia Sood, entertainment journalist for KISS TV was felled in the Westgate Mall attack on September 21, 2013.

Former Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) chairman Samuel Mutua Kivuitu dies of throat cancer on aged 74. Feb 25th

The wife of Mr. Thomas Letangule of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission dies under unclear circumstances at Family Care Maternity, Langata Road, while attending an antenatal clinic. She died on April 10.

Reuben Marambii former  NBK boss dies on June 19, at the Aga Khan Hospital after battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Mr Tony Ogunda, a former General Service Unit (GSU) police officer and the lover of Raphael Tuju's wife is found dead at a house in Nairobi's Upper Hill area. He died on July 1

Sheikh Ibrahim Umar alias Rogo, is killed on October 3 together with three other people shortly after giving lectures at the Musa Mosque in Majengo.
