OCPD collapses in security meeting

Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga has been rushed to hospital after he collapsed during a security meeting on Tuesday morning.

Mr Mutunga was attending the morning security briefing at the county police commander’s office at the Central Police Station in Eldoret town.

Mr Mutunga was said to have indicated he was not feeling well during the meeting that began at 8am.

Sources said he collapsed an hour into the meeting and was rushed by his colleagues to the hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

Uasin Gishu County Police boss Joseph Kine said the officer's condition was stable.

“The doctors have attended to him and he is recuperating very well,” Mr Kine told the Nation by phone.
