OCS arrested for threatening to kill his boss

A senior police officer in Nakuru has been arrested for threatening to kill his boss.

Mr Benard Ebuu Wanjala, who is the Officer Commanding Menengai Police Station in Rongai sub-county was on Friday arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers for threatening to kill the divisional police commander, Mr Japheth Kioko at his office.

Police report indicates that the OCS had on Thursday stormed a meeting that was being presided over by Mr Kioko and uttered threatening words.

Among the people who were in the meeting include the deputy OCPD Sarah Chuma and another officer, a Mr David Chesaina.

The officer is alleged to have said that he would kill the OCPD and commit suicide before Friday.

Sitakufa pekee yangu, mpaka nikufe na mtu (I will not die alone, I must die with somebody)” read part of the report.

The report further read “Nitakuua kabla ya Friday (I will kill you before Friday), a threat directed to Mr Kioko.

The officer was however confronted by the superintendent of police before matter was reported to the Nakuru county police commandant by the OCPD.
