Three Administration Police officers being held in connection with the death of lawyer Willie Kimani, his client Josphat Mwenda and taxi driver Joseph Muiruri, will be charged with murder on Monday.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said detectives have gathered evidence against them after the bodies of victims were found in a river on Friday.

He identified the officers as senior sergeant Fredrick Leliman, corporal Stephen Chebulet and constable Silvia wanjiku.

“There is circumstantial evidence to link the three officers to the murders. These are rogue officers just like any society with rogue people,” he said.

Mr Kimani was killed together with his client Josphat Mwenda and taxi driver Joseph Muiruri.

Investigations revealed that the trio were held at the Athi River Administration Police camp, where the officers were stationed, before they went missing.

One of the officers is an accused in a court case after he shot one of the victims last year.
