Police seize Sh360m cocaine at Mombasa port

  • Police are checking three other containers for more narcotics.

Detectives seized cocaine worth at least Sh360 million at the Mombasa port on Friday.

A source at the port told the Nation on condition of anonymity that the hard drugs were found hidden in sugar containers.

"There are four containers which have been seized. One of them has been confirmed to contain cocaine. The operation is still on to verify the other containers," said the source.

The containers are currently detained at the port police station.

Security bosses said they do not want to comment as the operation was still under way.
