QFM presenter ‘Rhino TK’ dies in Mombasa Road crash

Renowned QFM radio presenter Reagan Kukuni Kwena, popularly known as ‘Rhino TK’, is dead.

QFM posted the news on its official Facebook page informing fans about his death in a road crash on Saturday morning.

“This morning, we as the QFM family; have lost one us in a road accident. REAGAN KUKUNI KWENA aka "Rhino" has left us too soon! RIP RHINO TK,” read the post.

Besides being a radio presenter, Kukuni was a talented actor who featured in many plays.

Before joining the Nation Media Group, he worked at the Bungoma based West FM radio.

Messages of condolences from friends, family, fans and colleagues were posted on his Facebook wall with many expressing their shock over his death.

Aredi Van Okush posted: “A hard one to swallow this one, eish!!!! A young life gone just like that. Can’t believe just the other day we were at Drama Fests. I mourn you RHINO yes I do RIP Tony Kwena.”

“RIP my former college mate eami media and laugh industry have lost a legend we will meet again,” posted Thomas Tomsy.

“Death, when you take young people like Tony Kwena who had so much more to look forward to, you make those of us alive, be afraid of living. I know it does not make sense, but, when a young person, one who you knew dies, it feels like death is watching close by. I have lost a friend. Go well Rhyno. Go well,” said Eunice Kilonzo, a Nation writer.

Toili Khisa said: “Bungoma High School has lost one of its alumnus. Rhyno Tony Kwena passed on at 1 am after succumbing to a fatal road accident. Rynoh is remembered by the school for the role he played in Eric Amunga's play "The Producer is also acting" that was declared the best item on anti-corruption nationally in 2008. He has been a presenter at Qfm. May his Saul RIP.”

“Seriously speaking am yet to come to terms with the sad news of the death of my former school mate, friend, brother and colleague, Ryno Kwena Kukuni of QFM. Hapana aki. Death is so cruel.

Rest in peace comrade,” mourned journalist Dennis Lubanga of Nation.

“R.I.P RHYNHO. SO SAD!” said Dj Walter Mtu Mzito of West FM who worked with Rhino.
