Raila to join Uhuru on Madaraka Day fete in Nyeri
Opposition leader Raila Odinga has said that he will attend Madaraka Day celebrations to be presided by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nyeri County on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday at Orange House in Nairobi, the National Super Alliance (Nasa) flag bearer said that the day was an important one in the political journey of the country and so he would join other Kenyans in celebrations.
“Madaraka Day is a very important day in our political calendar and we celebrate it whenever and wherever we are.
“Tomorrow we are going to celebrate it in Nyeri with all Kenyans. We wish everybody else a very happy Madaraka Day,” said Mr Odinga.
He was speaking after receiving a delegation of politicians from Nakuru County led by former Nakuru TNA chairman Peter Njuguna who had decamped from Jubilee Party to the Opposition outfit.
