Reprieve for Waiganjo as court drops car theft case

Police imposter Joshua Waiganjo got a reprieve after a Nairobi court dropped a car-theft case against him.

The complainant, Mr Joshua Kogi Wanyeki on Tuesday withdrew the case against Mr Waiganjo and told a magistrate they had reached an out-of-court settlement.

Mr Waiganjo, who is serving a jail term in a separate case of impersonation, had been charged with stealing a Nissan matatu valued at Sh550,000 belonging to Mr Wanyeki.

The theft occured along Desai Road in Pangani, Nairobi, on March 25, 2010.

On Tuesday, Mr Wanyeki told a court that he found his stolen vehicle on April 15, 2010, and did not wish to proceed with the case.
