A road contractor was shot dead in his Ngong home on Wednesday night.

Mr Nicholas Njeru of Kinare Road Construction Company was killed by gangsters at around 10pm. Two armed men burst into his house in Olepolos a few minutes after he arrived home and demanded his laptop.

Police spokesperson Gatiria Mboroki, who confirmed the incident, said Mr Njeru died on the spot.
The gangsters took away the computer, Sh3,000 and a wedding ring.

“Investigations have started and police are looking for the killers,” Ms Mboroki said.

Separately, a woman has died after being doused with petrol and set on fire in a domestic row in Nairobi.

The mother of two succumbed to injuries on Wednesday at Kenyatta National Hospital where she was admitted with severe burns two weeks ago.

Ms Violet Muhonja sustained 70 per cent burns. Her husband was injured on the hands and legs during the October 12 incident in Kayole.
The man is admitted to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, Kayole.

Armed police officers were sent to the hospital to keep an eye on the man soon after the woman was pronounced dead.

The patient, according to the police, will be charged with murder as soon as he is fit to stand trial.

Police have questioned neighbours in connection with the incident.

KILL THEM ALL
Investigations indicate that the woman had called the man earlier in the evening and asked him to come home with a kilogramme of meat.
The man then told his wife to meet him at an entertainment joint in the estate.

She went to the venue, leaving the children in the house.

Neighbours said the two returned to the house at around 11pm and soon after began fighting.

The man allegedly said he would kill them all.

In the confrontation, a neighbour rushed into the house and took out the children leaving the fighting couple inside.

Police were called to the scene after flames engulfed the house.

Residents helped to put out the fire and the man and wife were rescued and taken to Mama Lucy Hospital.

The woman was transferred to KNH after her condition was deemed “very serious.”
