Nominated Senator Agnes Zani’s bodyguard shot and injured an armed man who attempted to rob him in Huruma Estate, Nairobi.
The bodyguard shot the man in the neck in the Wednesday night incident.
Starehe police chief Bernard Nyakwaka said the bodyguard, who is an Administration Police officer, was confronted by four armed men.
He said the other three attackers escaped.
The suspect is being treated at Kenyatta National Hospital and will be taken to court when he recovers.
