Saudi nationals have asked the government to investigate police extortion targeting them, including the allegation that police officers in Kilimani robbed three Saudis of Sh700,000.

Through the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kenya, they have also protested over continuous harassment of their colleagues, and requested to know whether it was a government directive.

According to a CCTV footage captured on July 24, six police officers are seen entering house number 104 at Skyview Apartments along Argwings Kodhek road where they arrested Mr Al Khulaysi Saud Hamoud and Mr Al Jarad Talah Fahadh.

Though what transpired thereafter is not captured, the three reported that the officers then robbed them of Sh700,000.

The victims’ lawyers, Chaudhri & Associates, obtained a footage captured that day that showed the officers entering the residence.

They said they intended to pursue the matter to deter a repeat of the same.

Kilimani OCPD Peter Kattam on Saturday said the report was made and investigations had been launched. “We have the report and action will be taken once we complete the investigations,” he said on Saturday.
