10 killed after South B Mosque wall collapses on shanties in Mukuru slums

At least 10 people were killed after a wall surrounding a mosque in Nairobi’s South B estate collapsed on on Monday night.

The wall collapsed on structures built next to the wall at Mukuru Fuata Nyayo slums following heavy downpour in the city.

According to St Johns Ambulance, two people were injured and others trapped in the 9pm incident.

“Death toll rise to 10. Search and rescue operations ongoing,” a post by St John Ambulance on Twitter stated.

The injured were rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital.

St Johns Ambulance stated that the rescue mission was called off at 1.30am Tuesday but resumed at around 7am.
