A terror suspect arrested in Nyahururu has been handed over to the Anti-terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) officers for further interrogation.

The middle aged man who hails from Kinamba, Laikipia West, was arrested Thursday afternoon following a tip off.

He is said to have later confessed to the police as having been trained by the Al-Shabaab in Somalia and 33 other countries.

The suspect claimed that he was abducted in 2006 at Jamia Mosque and was later taken to Afghanistan where he received the training.
Nyandarua OCPD Benjamin Onsongo said the suspect claimed that he had warned some senior police officers of the Westgate attack but his warning was never heeded.
