A Siaya MCA on Wednesday fell for a social media spoof and stripped naked in protest over what he described as disparaging remarks against ODM leader Raila Odinga.

A fake Twitter page,@WilliamRutoh, attributed to deputy president William Ruto had criticised youths in Mr Odinga’s turf of Kibera who burnt projects by the National Youth Service (NYS) on Monday night.

“Let them go back to the flying toilets, You cannot stop a fly from following a corpse to the grave,” read the tweet on the parody page.

Mr Ruto’s verified twitter page is @WilliamsRuto.
Central Gem MCA Fred Ouda read this comment as an attack on Mr Odinga, a former MP for Lang’ata where Kibra falls.

“Mr Ruto consciously insulted the Kibera resident in a clear attack against Cord leader Raila Odinga by insinuating that Raila was politically dead and Kibera people ought to change their mind,” said Mr Ouda.

Mr Ouda, an ally of governor Cornel Rasanga had last week led youths in demonstrations against ODM chief whip Jakoyo Midiwo against claims that he had disrupted the county boss’ speech in Yala.

The MCA issued a two week ultimatum to DP Ruto to apologise to the residents of Kibera and the country as a whole or else he will face the wrath of the Kenyans who are majority.

The MCA’s actions astonished journalists who had turned out for the press conference in Siaya town.

The journalists watched in disbelief as the MCA systematically undressed before addressing the media at the Siaya County assembly offices.

Mr Ouda stated that the twitter remarks did no auger well with the Kibera residents who are direct beneficiaries of these projects.

Mr Ouda was disappointed at ‘DP Ruto' remarks owing to his humble background, having come from grass to riches.

“The DP remarks over Kibera residents of being used to flying toilets and following dead corpse to the grave is an insult to Mr Odinga. I will personally go to court to seek legal redress on this matter,” said Mr Ouda.

Mr Ouda further accused the DP for being mentioned in numerous corruption cases such as the Langata road primary school land saga and the controversy surrounding the Weston hotel.
