Three people have been killed in Mlango Kubwa in Mathare, Nairobi, following clashes between two groups.

A resident has said that trouble started when a man who had stabbed his friend to death was arrested by police but later released.

The public then subjected him to mob justice, killing him on the spot.

Another group, in support of the deceased, then attacked another man and beheaded him, he said.

Bodies were still at the scene on Tuesday morning.

Starehe police boss Alice Kimeli confirmed the report but said they police were yet to arrive at the scene.
