Tiaty MP Asman Kamama has stuck to his guns by refusing to relinquish his position as chairman of the National Security Committee in parliament, despite pressure from Baringo residents to do so.
Mr Kamama termed the prodding as witch-hunt.
"Those who want me to resign on claims that l am interfering with investigations about the Baringo conflicts simply do not understand my roles.
"They are confusing my powers and those of the Interior Cabinet Secretary and Inspector General of Police," Mr Kamama said.

Loyamorok Ward Representative Kibet Cheretei and Tiaty parliamentary aspirant Pepee Kitambaa were killed by unknown people on Saturday (Feb 18) in a nightclub in Marigat town, Baringo South.
Police boss Peter Ndung'u said that the two killers were wearing hoods; one had a machete and the other an AK 47 rifle.
"Reports indicate that the armed killers who were hooded appeared from the main road and they targeted the two politicians," Mr Ndung'u said.
On February 20, residents demonstrated in Marigat town against runaway insecurity following the killing of a man in Chemorong'ion, Baringo South, and theft of livestock in Kasiela Village by bandits.
Such actions have fanned enmity between Tugen and Pokot communities.
Speaking to the press at a Nakuru hotel, the MP equally denied allegations that he had been summoned by police to record a statement about the issues.
"I want to dispel rumours being peddled on social media that l have been summoned to record a statement in regard to the chaos in Baringo. I have not been arrested or locked up in any police station," he said.

The legislator called on his fellow leaders to preach peace and not incitement.
