Police gunned down two suspects on Friday near the Likoni Channel in Mombasa, who they said have been terrorising residents.

Mombasa County Commissioner Nelson Marwa said police had been trailing the suspects, who had been on their watch list.
CAUSE MAYHEM
Police said one of the suspects tried to blow himself up after realising that they had been cornered.
They claimed the two wanted to cross the channel from the Mombasa Island to Likoni to cause mayhem.
Likoni has witnessed a number of attacks recently, including the Sunday attack by hooded gunmen that left six people dead.
