President Uhuru Kenyatta Sunday evening met British Labour Party Member of Parliament Keith Vaz.

The British MP paid a courtesy call to President Kenyatta at his hotel in London.

Mr Vaz handed the President a jersey from the best European rugby team, Leicester Tigers.

The MP expressed hope that the Kenya Rugby Sevens will be able to participate in the forthcoming games in Britain.

The Labour MP for Leicester East in Britain is also Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee which recently toured Kenya on a fact finding mission on the impact of the impending UK khat (miraa) ban.

President Kenyatta thanked the British MP for his efforts in promoting sports saying it fosters unity among people.

Meanwhile, President Kenyatta hosted a cocktail party to celebrate the success of First Lady Margaret and her team after completing the London Marathon.

The Head of State will Monday host a luncheon in honour of the First Lady and her team.
