President returns from Kuwait

  • The President returned from Kuwait on Wednesday evening.

President Kenyatta urged Arab nations to support Kenya’s efforts to cost-effectively explore and extract the recently discovered underground fresh water, coal, oil and natural gas in the just ended Arab-Africa summit.

During the visit, President Kenyatta also held talks with the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and restated his government’s commitment to work closely with Kuwait and other Arab countries to strengthen economic and cultural ties.

The President returned from Kuwait Wednesday evening.

He also underscored Kenya’s role in maintaining a strong peace-building and peace-keeping tradition, citing the country’s involvement in diplomatic and political efforts to end the civil war in the Sudan and South Sudan.

He also met Presidents Macky Sall of Senegal, Denis Sassou Nguesso of Congo, Prime Minister of Ethiopia Hailemariam Desalegn and Paul Kagame of Rwanda separately in which he noted that Kenya would work with like-minded leaders for peace in the region, Africa and the world.
