Fire fighters extinguish fire in Lang'ata High School

The Nairobi County fire brigade has extinguished fire that burnt a dormitory in Lang'ata High School, with 15 students suffering minor injuries.

The facility had four wings with a capacity of 200. Three of the wings were razed by the fire that began at around 7pm.

Nairobi County Police Commandant Japheth Koome said that two fire engines had been deployed to the institution to extinguish the fire.

Mr Koome added that at least 15 students suffered minor injuries while attempting to salvage their properties.

"Most of them had scratches while others had inhaled too much smoke. But all of them were treated by the emergency care at the school and discharged," he said.

He added that the fire was put out at around 8:48pm but the cause is still unknown.
