Four University of Nairobi students were Tuesday charged with breaking into a colleague’s room and stealing cash and property.

The court heard that Hillary Leakey, Kelvin Njagi, Gregory Mwangi and David Mwangi broke into Mr Eric Omondi’s room at Kabete Campus and stole a home theatre, a laptop, several phones and clothes among other items.

In another count, they were accused of deliberately damaging a home theatre valued at Sh50,000 the property of Mr Omondi.

They were also accused of stealing Sh42,000 from Mr Omondi during the incident that occurred on Aprili 11, 2014.

The accused denied all the charges and pleaded with the court to release them on bond so that they can proceed with their studies.

They were released on Sh50,000 bond each until June 3 when the case will be heard
