Parents were angered on Tuesday following reports that English results of some of the 300 candidates at Chavakali Boys in Vihiga County had been cancelled.

One of the parents showed Nation an SMS stating that his son’s English results had been cancelled.

“Nobody is receiving us to tell us what is happening. Gates to this school have never been closed to parents. It has been very expensive paying school fees, but I am seeing a Y,” the parent complained.

Deputy Principal Job Mudavi ordered the gates to the school’s main entrance closed to parents and journalists.

DESPERATE CALLS

A source said teachers were making desperate calls to the Kenya National Examinations Council in Nairobi to get to the bottom of the sad news that had befallen their school.

Mr Mudavi said he could not comment on the results because he had not seen them. He directed the Nation to the principal, Mr Kahi Indimuli, saying he was better placed to comment.

“The principal is in Nairobi. You can call him. He is at Mitihani House as we speak,” said Mr Mudavi.

Contacted by telephone, Mr Indimuli said he was in a meeting and would comment later.

In 2000, the school’s results were cancelled, but in 2013, it was position eight nationally and produced the sixth best candidate.

The 2013 results showed the school had 81 A, 89 A-, 83 B+, 30 B and five B-. No candidate scored below B minus.
